Glendale Library and Sahuaro Ranch Park | Glendale, Arizona
Just outside of the Sahuaro Ranch Park is the Glendale Main Library. One common thing that these two locations share other than the same street corner is that they both feature dozens of free-range peacocks!
My kids call the Glendale Library the Peacock library simply because, from the moment you step out of your car, you are greeted by big beautiful, squawking peacocks. Dozens surround the parking lot and front entry of the library.
We even had one very friendly peacock follow us around the Glendale Library Cactus Garden.
The library itself, while large, doesn’t offer the most exciting youth section. While other libraries feature fun play areas for the kids, the Glendale Library does not offer more than a reading area.

Just behind the Glendale library is the 17 acre Historic Saguaro Ranch and Park.
Saguaro Ranch Park has huge grass fields to run and play in. This massive park is a great place to bring scooters or bicycles because there is so much space to ride them. This park offers a dog park, baseball fields, soccer fields, and volleyball courts.
Saguaro Ranch features four separate play structures, all located in one area of the park and several ramadas, great for hosting birthdays or special events.
The most unique aspect of this park is the preserved historic ranch.
The Saguaro Historic Ranch activities, exhibits, and guided tours of their preserved historic buildings rose garden, barnyard, and orchards. In this section of the park is also where you will find lots more peacocks too!
The rose garden is absolutely stunning and would be a beautiful place for a family photoshoot or engagements. You can even host a wedding there!
